In a collaborative effort between the Navy, Army, and Police Special Task Force (STF), authorities uncovered and seized more than 84kg of Kerala cannabis concealed in shrubs near the Wallipuram beach in Jaffna.
The Naval Deployment Point Pedro, supported by the Army Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) Staff and Nelliadi Police STF, conducted the search operation leading to the discovery of three suspicious sacks hidden in the beach vicinity.
Upon inspection, the sacks were found to contain 40 packages of Kerala cannabis, with a total weight exceeding 84kg and 600g.
The estimated street value of this cannabis haul is reported to be over Rs. 33 million. The seized narcotics have been handed over to the Point Pedro Police for further legal proceedings.
