The Colombo District Court has issued a restraining order against the former General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Dayasiri Jayasekera.

The order aims to prevent Jayasekera from obstructing the work of the acting General Secretary of the SLFP, Sarathi Dushmantha Mithrapala, and submitting false recommendations to the Election Commission.

District Judge Sandun Withanage has declared that this restraining order will be effective until January 21.

The decision follows a petition filed by SLFP Chairman Maithripala Sirisena and the party's Acting General Secretary.
