An accomplice of 'Badowita Asanka,' a member of a drug trafficking and organized crime gang, has been arrested by the Police Special Task Force.
The arrest, part of Operation 'Yukthiya,' took place in a raid conducted on January 6.
During the arrest, the suspect, Gayan Tharaka Sampath, was found in possession of 6 grams of heroin, 10 grams of Kerala ganja, Rs. 467,000 in cash, along with 5 swords and a pointed weapon.
The arrested individual, a 35-year-old resident of Dehiwala, was arrested in 2019 over a murder.
