Former Deputy Director of Health Services, Dr Herath Kumara has been remanded until January 10, following his appearance before Maligakanda Magistrate Lochana Abeywickrama earlier today (Jan. 05).
Dr Kumara, who previously held a prominent position in the health sector, was taken into custody by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection to the substandard human immunoglobulin scandal that has raised serious concerns within the community.
