The Department of Prisons has announced several appointments and transfers within the department.
Ajith Basnayake, formerly the Prisons Commissioner of Industries, now takes on the role of Prisons Commissioner of Administration.
Meanwhile, Gamini B. Dissanayake, the former Prisons Commissioner of Rehabilitation, assumes the position of Prisons Commissioner of Operations, Intelligence, and Security.
The Department has also modified the responsibilities of several Prison Superintendents. Additionally, 14 Prison Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents have been subject to transfers, while 11 new Assistant Prison Superintendents (Covering up Duties) have been appointed with transfers.
Furthermore, the department has announced the transfer of 20 Chief Jailors as part of these organizational changes."
