A total of 9,105 children and young people aged between 8 and 21 have been arrested in islandwide drug raids conducted since October 30, 2025, Police Media Spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wutler said.

He said the arrests included 8,932 males and 173 females.

Among those arrested were 11 children between the ages of 8 and 14, the Police Media Spokesman added.

He disclosed these figures at a media briefing held today (02) to provide an update on the performance of the Sri Lanka Police and other developments related to the “Rataama Ekatta” (The Entire Country Together) national operation aimed at eliminating dangerous drugs.
