The verdict in the case filed against 24 defendants, including Naufar Moulavi, over the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks is scheduled to be delivered today (22).
The defendants are facing more than 23,270 charges, including conspiracy and aiding and abetting the attacks.
The trial was heard before a three-member Colombo High Court Bench comprising Justices Navaratne Marasinghe, Ramanathan Kannan and Sujeewa Nishshanka.
A total of 2,309 prosecution witnesses testified in the case filed by the Attorney General. After lengthy daily hearings, the recording of evidence concluded on August 24.
The three-member Bench had earlier announced that the final verdict would be delivered on September 22, following the conclusion of all evidence.
