The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested the wife of a retired Army soldier in connection with his abduction and murder in the Kirindiwela area.
The incident took place on September 9, 2018, following which the Homicide and Organised Crime Investigation Division of the CID commenced investigations into the case.
Based on information received by investigators, the suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon (7) in the Narangaspitiya area of Kirindiwela.
The 49-year-old woman, a resident of Narangaspitiya, Kirindiwela, is wanted on suspicion of conspiring to commit the crime and aiding and abetting the offence.
The CID is conducting further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the retired soldier’s abduction and murder.
