The Department of Immigration and Emigration has introduced an online appointment booking system for people seeking to obtain passports through its regional offices.
According to the Department, the public will be able to book appointments through the new system from October 29.
Applicants can visit the official website of the Department of Immigration and Emigration to reserve a date and time for their passport applications.
The service will be available at the Department's regional offices in Kandy, Jaffna, Kurunegala, Vavuniya and Matara.
However, the Department clarified that the online appointment booking system will not apply to passport applications submitted at its head office in Battaramulla.
