Another Chinese national has been arrested in connection with the assault of three Chinese nationals at the Colombo Port City premises and the subsequent abduction and murder of one of them.
The incident occurred on July 23, 2026, when two groups of Chinese nationals clashed inside the Port City premises. During the confrontation, one Chinese national was allegedly abducted and later killed. His body was subsequently discovered concealed in a forested area in Karandana, Eheliyagoda.
Based on information received by investigating officers, a suspect wanted in connection with the incident was arrested yesterday (04) at the Colombo Port City premises.
The suspect has been identified as a 54-year-old Chinese national.
The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) is continuing investigations into the incident. Earlier, four other Chinese nationals were arrested in connection with the abduction and murder.
