The Welfare Benefits Board (WBB) says a total of Rs. 3.483 billion will be credited to elderly beneficiaries under the Aswesuma Welfare Benefits Programme for August 2026.
Accordingly, Rs. 3.091 billion will be paid to 618,352 beneficiaries aged over 70 under the first phase of the programme.
A further Rs. 391.3 million will be provided to 78,260 beneficiaries under the second phase.
In total, 696,612 elderly beneficiaries will receive the August allowance, amounting to Rs. 3.483 billion.
The WBB said the funds will be credited to the beneficiaries’ Aswesuma bank accounts today (03) and will be available for withdrawal from the same day.
