The Police Headquarters has announced that the data system used to process police clearance certificates is currently out of service.

The Clearance Division, located on the 17th floor of the Suhurupaya building in Battaramulla, uses the system to receive applications, obtain relevant reports, and print clearance certificates.

According to the Police Media Division, the system has been offline since 12:50 p.m. on Thursday (20).

The Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) has been informed of the issue, and necessary steps are currently being taken to restore the system, police said.

Police Headquarters has therefore requested the public not to submit applications for police clearance certificates until the system is restored.

Applications for clearance certificates can be submitted again as soon as the data system is fully operational, the Police Media Division said.
