Commander KUBO Takayuki, the Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Japan in the Sri Lanka called on Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, Commander of the Navy at the Navy Headquarters today, 12 August 2026.
During the ensuing cordial meeting, Commander KUBO Takayuki conveyed best wishes to Vice Admiral Fernando for his appointment as the 27th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy.
Their discussion focused on several matters of bilateral importance and long-standing cooperation between the two countries. Signifying the importance of the occasion, mementos were also exchanged.
