Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has alleged that a government incapable of managing the country's prison system cannot successfully rebuild Sri Lanka.
Addressing a public gathering in Maligakanda, Borella, Mr.Premadasa criticised the Government's handling of recent incidents, including the unrest at Mahara Prison. He said the situation reflected shortcomings in the administration's ability to govern key state institutions.
Mr.Premadasa also claimed that between 30% and 40% of the population is affected by poverty and economic hardships, arguing that the Government has failed to adequately address the challenges faced by the public.
His remarks were made during a political gathering, where he called for stronger governance and greater attention to the country's economic and social issues.
