The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has announced that two spill gates of the Canyon Reservoir have been opened by six inches each to manage the rising water level.
Authorities further stated that the spill gates of the Lakshapana Reservoir may also need to be opened depending on the water level.
Residents living in low-lying areas downstream of the reservoirs and along riverbanks have been urged to remain vigilant and follow all safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
