A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck the volcanic Campi Flegrei (Phlegraean Fields) area near the southern Italian city of Naples on injuring four people, damaging buildings and churches.
It also triggered power outages that disrupted train and metro services.
The earthquake struck at 7.46 pm (local time), with its epicentre in the Campi Flegrei volcanic area west of Naples at a depth of about 3 km (2 miles), according to Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology.
The Italian fire service said minor damage was reported to buildings in and around Naples, but added that emergency crews had not received any immediate requests for rescue or assistance, as cited by Reuters.
