Sri Lanka Police have initiated legal proceedings to confiscate illegal assets worth Rs. 772 million during the first several months of 2026, Police Media Spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler announced.
He made these remarks during a special media briefing held today (July 31) at the "Ratama Ekata" (Nation Together) National Operation Headquarters and Media Centre, where the Police provided an update on their contribution to the nationwide operation.
ASP Wootler also revealed that in 2025, legal action was launched to confiscate illegal assets valued at Rs. 1.549 billion.
The briefing highlighted the latest progress made by the Sri Lanka Police in narcotics enforcement, including major drug seizures and ongoing efforts to identify, freeze, and confiscate properties and assets acquired through illegal drug trafficking activities in accordance with the law.
