A total of 104 new 'Metro' buses imported to improve the efficiency and quality of Sri Lanka's public transport service arrived in the country today (29).
The buses were imported from Foton International Corporation, one of China's leading vehicle manufacturers.
The official agreement to procure the new fleet was signed in May as part of the government's initiative to modernise the country's public transport sector and enhance the quality of passenger services.
In accordance with the agreement, all 104 buses have now been delivered to Sri Lanka. The new fleet is expected to strengthen public transportation by providing safer, more reliable, and more comfortable travel for commuters.
