A house belonging to a police officer in the Walawala area of Beliatta was reportedly targeted in a shooting incident.
According to preliminary information, the police officer is attached to the Dikwella Police Station. Unidentified individuals are reported to have opened fire at the gate of the officer's residence before fleeing the scene.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident. However, the shooting has caused damage to the property's front gate.
Police have launched an investigation to identify the suspects and determine the motive behind the attack. Further inquiries are being conducted by the relevant authorities.
