The Colombo High Court has scheduled the money laundering case filed against Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and Daisy Forrest for a pre-trial conference on August 31.
The case was taken up today (16) before Colombo High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli.
During the hearing, State Counsel Oswald Perera requested the court to fix a date for the pre-trial conference. He also informed the court that the prosecution intends to clarify its position regarding the second accused, Daisy Forrest, and submit proposed amendments to the indictment at the next hearing.
After considering the submissions, Judge Singappuli ordered that the matter be called on August 31, 2026, for the pre-trial conference.
The Attorney General has filed charges against Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Daisy Forrest under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, alleging that they deposited nearly Rs. 59 million into bank accounts while knowing, or having reason to believe, that the funds had been obtained through unlawful means.
