Sri Lanka has conveyed its condolences on the passing of former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, with a condolence message signed at the Embassy of Qatar on behalf of the Government and people of Sri Lanka.
The tribute recognized Sheikh Hamad's visionary leadership in transforming Qatar into a modern nation and acknowledged his significant role in strengthening diplomatic, economic, and bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Qatar.
Condolences were also extended to the current Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Qatari royal family, and the people of Qatar, while wishing eternal peace for the late former Emir.
