The Department of Meteorology has issued an ‘Amber’ advisory warning of strong winds affecting several parts of the country due to active south-west monsoon conditions.
The advisory will remain valid until 11.00 AM tomorrow (16).
According to the Department, wind speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour can be expected at times in the Northern, North Central and North Western provinces, as well as the Matale, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
The Meteorology Department has advised the public to remain alert and follow future weather updates and advisories issued by the Department.
