The suspect, identified as Rannayaka Mudiyanselage Prassanna, was taken into custody this morning as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged procurement irregularities at the state-owned company.
According to CIABOC allegations, the General Manager had failed to follow proper procurement procedures when securing an order for bags required by the company. The transaction is alleged to have resulted in a financial loss of approximately Rs. 14.3 million to the government while providing an undue advantage to the supplying company.
Following the arrest, the suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court for further legal proceedings.
