The Court of Appeal has concluded the hearing of a petition filed by Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, seeking a ruling that the “conspiracy” charge filed against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act cannot be maintained.
The Court announced that its decision on the petition will be delivered on July 3.
During the hearing, Attorney-at-Law Hafeez Faris appeared on behalf of Yoshitha Rajapaksa and presented submissions before the court. Deputy Solicitor General Janaka Bandara appeared for the Attorney General and made submissions on behalf of the State.
