During the meeting, both sides held extensive discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and South Korea, expanding investment opportunities, and exploring future development projects.
Special attention was also given to preparations for the upcoming International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), scheduled to be held in November. Ambassador Lee noted that an ICAPP representative is expected to visit Sri Lanka soon to meet with relevant officials.
The discussions further covered proposed projects under the ministry, while the ambassador highlighted that the debt restructuring process between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea has been successfully concluded.
Ambassador Lee also stated that Korean companies are showing growing interest in investment opportunities in Sri Lanka. She added that opportunities would be explored for cooperation with Korea in enhancing the capacity of ministry officials in the digitalization of road traffic signaling systems.
With the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and South Korea set to be marked next year, both sides exchanged views on commemorative programs and ways to further strengthen ties between the two nations.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of Mission of the South Korean Embassy, Eunji Kang.
