According to police, the arrest follows an ongoing probe into complaints that vehicles and fuel belonging to the State Engineering Corporation were used without proper authorization during the period when Weerawansa held ministerial office.

Investigators allege that state resources may have been utilized in a manner inconsistent with official regulations. Manju was taken into custody to assist investigators as inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the alleged misuse.

Authorities stated that the investigation remains active and that any further legal action will be determined based on evidence gathered during the probe.
