According to railway authorities, the crossing, located between the Baseline Road and Narahenpita railway stations on the Kelani Valley line, will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from 9:30 a.m. on June 6 until 7:30 a.m. on June 7.

As a result of the repair work, train operations between Colombo Fort and Narahenpita stations will also be suspended during the affected period.

The Department further stated that three slow trains scheduled for this afternoon will commence their journeys from Narahenpita Railway Station and operate up to Avissawella.

Meanwhile, railway authorities have also decided to temporarily close the railway crossing near Horape Railway Station on the Main Line today and tomorrow to facilitate another urgent maintenance project.

Motorists and commuters have been advised to use alternative routes and plan their travel accordingly.
