According to police reports, the victim was a local businessman who was traveling on a motorcycle at the time of the attack. An unidentified assailant arriving in a motor car intercepted the businessman and opened fire at him before fleeing the scene.
The motorcyclist, who sustained critical injuries from the gunfire, was rushed to the Nagoda Hospital for emergency medical treatment. However, police confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.
Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F.U. Woottler, stated that three special police teams have been deployed to investigate the incident.
