Managing Director Dr. Mayura Netthikumara said the misleading reports had caused public anxiety and led to unnecessary queues forming outside fuel stations.

He urged the public not to panic, stressing that there is no fuel shortage in the country.

Meanwhile, he added that two vessels carrying 90,000 metric tons of crude oil each are scheduled to arrive at the Colombo Port in the coming days.

The crude oil shipments are being imported from the United States and the United Arab Emirates, he said.
