The charges were filed before a Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar established by the Chief Justice to hear the matter.
The three-judge bench hearing the case consists of Justices Manoj Thalgodapitiya, Udesh Ranatunga and Buddhika Sri Ragala.
The case was initiated following allegations that Cabraal failed to repay more than Rs. 1.84 billion, which he had been directed to reimburse under conditions linked to the case.
