The scheme covers key crops including paddy, maize, potato, soya, chilli and onion, which have been impacted by adverse weather conditions.
Authorities have urged farmers to promptly report damage to the relevant Agrarian Service Centres within 14 days to enable assessment and processing of claims.
The Ministry of Agriculture said compensation will be determined based on verified assessments of the extent of damage in affected cultivation areas.
The programme will be implemented as a free insurance scheme, without requiring farmers to pay any insurance premiums.
