The official court filing, submitted by Netanyahu’s lawyer, requested the immediate cancellation of today’s session, citing confidential “security and political reasons” that prevent him from attending.
It said specific details were provided to the court and prosecution in a sealed envelope.
The trial, which began in 2020, covers three separate cases involving charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust. Netanyahu first took the stand in December 2024, but his cross-examination has faced constant disruptions.
Throughout 2025 and this year, his defence team has successfully petitioned for delays, routinely citing wartime developments, pressing diplomatic engagements, and acute security schedules. But critics accuse the prime minister of deliberately using regional geopolitical tensions to stall the proceedings.
