On Thursday (14), officers attached to the Panadura Walana Central Strike Unit conducted a raid at a hotel in the Waskaduwa area under the Kalutara North Police Division. During the operation, 14 foreign nationals were taken into custody, including 12 Chinese nationals between the ages of 22 and 56, along with two Malaysian nationals.
In a separate incident, officers from the Trincomalee Police Station raided a hotel in the Murugaripuri area within the Trincomalee Police Division yesterday. Three Indian nationals, aged 49 and 50, were arrested over alleged visa violations.
Police stated that further investigations into the two incidents are being carried out by the Kalutara North Police and the Trincomalee Police respectively.
