Authorities stated that 26,213 cubic feet of water per second is currently being released into the Kala Oya.
Meanwhile, two spill gates of Angamuwa Reservoir have also been opened, releasing 643 cubic feet of water per second into the Kala Oya.
Residents living in low-lying areas along the Kala Oya have been advised by authorities to remain vigilant due to the increasing water levels.
