The Irrigation Department has issued the latest update on reservoir spill operations affecting several river basins.
At the Rajanganaya Reservoir, four spill gates are currently open. Two gates are opened by 03 feet and two gates by 02 feet. The total spill discharge is 2,613 cubic feet per second (cusecs) flowing into the Kala Oya.
At the Angamuwa Reservoir, two spill gates are open by 01 foot. The spill discharge is 643 cusecs directed to the Kala Oya.
A spill gate opening notice has also been issued for the Inginiyitiya Reservoir. As of 09.30 AM on 14.05.2026, two radial gates have been opened by 01 foot. The discharge from the reservoir is 1,000 cusecs flowing into the Mi Oya.
