Speaking at a media briefing yesterday (12), Ranawaka stated that the media unit of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna under Anura Kumara Dissanayake had circulated photographs of opposition MPs on social media, calling on them to provide evidence before the commission.

According to Ranawaka, the images included opposition MPs S.M. Marikkar, Ajith P. Perera, D. V. Chanaka and himself.

However, he insisted that they had no reason to testify before the commission.

“We will not appear before this commission, which is overseen by Tilvin Silva, a person not elected by the people or a public representative,” Ranawaka said.

He further claimed that the commission already possesses sufficient documentation relating to the matter.
