According to officials, four spill gates were opened by six feet, while another four spill gates were opened by four inches.

As a result, a water discharge of 9,229 cusecs is being released into the Kala Oya.

Meanwhile, two spill gates of the Angamuwa Tank have also been opened by one foot.

Authorities stated that the reservoir is currently releasing 636 cusecs of water into the Kala Oya.

Residents living in low-lying areas along the Kala Oya have been advised to remain vigilant due to the increased water release.
