The Department for Registration of Persons has announced that its public services, which were temporarily suspended, will resume from tomorrow (20), according to an official media statement.

The department stated that all public services, including the one-day service for issuing National Identity Cards (NICs), will recommence as normal.

Services had been suspended since the 17th due to an unexpected breakdown in the department’s computer system. Officials confirmed that necessary measures have now been taken to restore operations, allowing services to resume without further disruption.
