In a statement shared social media, the Ministry said that commuters can conveniently secure their seats by scanning a designated QR code made available through official channels. This initiative aims to ease congestion and reduce long queues typically experienced during the busy post-holiday travel period.
In addition to the QR-based system, passengers also have the option to book tickets through the official website, http://www.busticket.gov.lk, or by contacting the hotline at 011 200 1266.
The Ministry highlighted that the move is part of ongoing efforts to modernize public transport services and enhance passenger convenience during peak travel seasons.
