The talks took place between Bimal Ratnayake, Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, and senior Russian officials including Andrey Denisov and Yevgeny Ditrik.
During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities to deepen bilateral engagement in multiple fields, reflecting the long-standing relationship between Sri Lanka and Russia.
In addition to political dialogue, discussions focused on strengthening economic collaboration and expanding educational exchanges between the two nations. The Russian side also shared details of the upcoming International Transport and Logistics Forum scheduled to be held in St. Petersburg from April 1 to 3, 2026, inviting Sri Lankan participation.
The meeting highlighted both countries’ commitment to enhancing cooperation through practical initiatives and sustained dialogue, further reinforcing their longstanding partnership.
