The announcement was made during a media briefing held today (12) at the Isurupaya premises with the participation of Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Madura Seneviratne and officials of the National Transport Commission.
Officials stated that the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, together with the Ministry of Transport, has taken several steps in 2026 to streamline the Sisu Seriya bus service currently in operation. As part of these measures, over 200 additional buses are expected to be deployed to expand the service.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education and the National Transport Commission were also present at the media briefing.
