The matter was discussed at a meeting held today (11) at the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
The meeting was attended by Minister Professor Chandana Abeyratne, Colombo Mayor Vraie Cally Balthazaar, and representatives of the CMC Engineers’ Union.
Officials highlighted that the shortage of staff and the impractical conditions within the existing recruitment procedures have created significant challenges for the smooth functioning of the council.
