According to Minister Herath, Kaishanand Giriji Maharaj, accompanied by a delegation of 14 lay and clergy members, will tour several prominent Hindu sites in Sri Lanka. Among the locations are the popular Shiva temples for Indian pilgrims, such as Thiruketheeswaram in Mannar, Naguleswaram in Jaffna, Koneswaram in Trincomalee, Seetha Amman temple in Nuwara Eliya, and the ancient ruins with Shiva temples in Polonnaruwa.
Minister Herath highlighted that the delegation’s visit presents a valuable opportunity to promote Sri Lanka’s religious tourism sector, strengthening cultural ties and encouraging pilgrimage visits from India.
