One person has been killed and three others injured in a road accident that occurred this morning (24) near a fuel station in the Pannipitiya area along the High Level Road, according to the Police Media Spokesperson’s Office.
Police stated that the accident took place when a bus, attempting to avoid a three-wheeler that had suddenly entered the main road from the fuel station, collided with a lorry parked by the roadside.
The impact of the collision resulted in the death of one individual at the scene. Three others sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital for treatment.
Among the injured, one person is reported to be in critical condition, while the other two suffered minor injuries, police said.
