The accident occurred when a car, attempting to overtake a bus, collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The motorcyclist and her two children sustained injuries in the collision. The young girl later succumbed to her injuries after being admitted to the Gampola Hospital.
Authorities in the Athgala Police Division have urged motorists to exercise caution and remain vigilant while traveling on this stretch of road.
