The operation, conducted by the Navy and officers from the Muthurajawela Site Security Office, led to the seizure of 67 kilograms of turtle meat in the possession of the suspects, who are local fishermen.
The case, along with the suspects, was produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court and remanded the culprits until February 18, when a fine of Rs. 250,000 was imposed.
