Honorary Consul Perera is a healthcare businessman and philanthropist, actively engaged in both the Sri Lankan and Australian professional communities, as well as the Buddhist society in Australia.
Congratulating him, High Commissioner Gunasekera highlighted the importance of strengthening Sri Lanka’s engagement with Queensland. “With his extensive business and community networks, he is well positioned to assist the High Commission in promoting trade, investment, and tourism opportunities for Sri Lanka,” she said.
Honorary Consul Perera expressed his commitment to providing efficient consular services to the approximately 20,000-strong Sri Lankan community in Queensland, working closely with the High Commission in Canberra to serve the community effectively.
