Pathirana has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to a hamstring injury in his left leg. The injury reportedly occurred during Sri Lanka’s match against Australia national cricket team on the 16th.
As a result of the setback, Sri Lanka has brought in Madushanka to strengthen their pace attack for the rest of the competition, with official approval granted by the ICC Technical Committee.
