837 prisoners on death row; 18 foreigners and women among them

Prisons Media Spokesperson and Prisons Commissioner A. C. Gajanayake stated that the group includes 18 foreigners and women.

He further said that 387 prisoners sentenced to death have filed appeals before the courts.

Arrangements have been made to detain these inmates in several prisons across the country, including Welikada Prison, Boossa Prison, Bogambara Prison, Mahara Prison, and Angunakolapelessa Prison.
