During the meeting, the Minister conveyed warm congratulations on behalf of the Government and people of Sri Lanka to the newly appointed Prime Minister of Bangladesh. He also expressed appreciation for the assistance extended by Bangladesh to Sri Lanka in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah.
The talks focused on further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, particularly in promoting tourist arrivals from Bangladesh to Sri Lanka and enhancing collaboration to further develop the tourism industry.
Discussions also explored expanding investment opportunities in pharmaceutical production.
The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Bangladesh, Mr. Dharmapala Weerakkody, was also present at the meeting.
